Technical support for analysis of some elements of the post-2020 CO2 emission standards for cars and vans

The project supports the EU Commission with scientific analyses on the review of CO2 emission standards for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. In the consortium led by Ricardo Energy & Environment, Öko-Institut takes the lead of the task on policy options for the possible integration of CO2 mitigation of low emitting fuels. In this work package, Öko-Institut evaluates different possible options for accounting GHG emission reductions from fuels for their benefits, risks, and challenges, and performs detailed cost calculations from the perspective of vehicle manufacturers and users, as well as society. Öko-Institut also supports the partners in other work packages and comments on the work in analyses in other topics of the CO2 emission standards review.
