Technical support for the establishment and management of a Regional Climate Action Transparency Hub (ReCATH) in Central Asia

The Regional Climate Action Transparency Hub for Central Asian States aims to enhance climate monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems for its member countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. As a result, national decision-makers, policymakers, investors and stakeholders will be in a better position to advance climate mitigation and adaptation actions and countries able to meet their reporting requirements under the Paris Agreement.

With enhanced MRV, governments will be able to:

- Adequately support their national decision-making processes regarding climate policies and actions;

- Reach out to investors and other stakeholders in implementing mitigation and adaptation actions; and

- Meet their country’s transparency requirements, in particular those under the Paris Agreement.

The project is based on cooperation between ICAT, the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC), and the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute.
