Technical support for the revision of ecodesign and energy/resource label implementing measures for the product group: Household washing machines / washer-dryers

Support to the European Commission with regard to the revision of the Ecodesign and Energy label regulations for household washing machines. In this context, information regarding existing standards and legislation, market data, consumer behaviour and technological innovations (best available technologies, BAT) was compiled in a preparatory study to derive policy options. On this basis, proposals for the revised regulations will be drafted to be discussed with stakeholders in the Consultation Forum. Finally, within the project, information for the revision and update of the impact assessment were compiled. Focus for this product group were inter alia the inclusion of washer dryers into the scope of the regulations as well as the assessment of possibilities for inclusion of resource related criteria additionally to the energy consumption.
