Update of waste prevention programme - Evaluation of three measures

According to the requirements of Article 30 of Directive 2008/98/EC and Section 33 of the Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG), the German Waste Avoidance Program (AVP), which was first adopted by the federal government in July 2013 as the "Waste Avoidance Program of the Federal Government with the Participation of the Länder", must be evaluated every 6 years and updated if necessary. Against the background of this review of the AVP, which is due in 2019 at the latest, the current status of the implementation of the waste prevention program is to be determined and evaluated as part of the planned project. With a view to hitherto unused waste prevention potentials, the AVP's test assignments in the program should also be included. Other aspects not yet addressed in the AVP should also be examined to determine whether they can make a contribution to waste prevention. Based on the results of the analysis of the current status and existing potentials, concrete proposals for possible further development and updating of the program are to be drawn up.
