Fachliche und konzeptionelle Unterstützung des E-Waste Programms in Accra/Ghana bei der Entwicklung einer Kurzstellungnahme

A project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) aims to improve the prerequisites for the sustainable management of e-waste in Ghana. The project covers the entire territory of Ghana, with a strong but not exclusive focus on the Accra metropolitan area. The project aims to improve the political framework conditions for the sustainable management of e-waste. The focus is on strengthening the capacities of partner institutions at an individual and organisational level relating to the introduction and application of policy instruments for the management of e-waste. In addition, the focus is on developing economically viable business models for the sustainable management of e-waste. The project also aims at strengthening the capacities of informal sector actors with a view to a more eco- and health-friendly management of e-waste. As part of the project, Oeko-Institut offers GIZ technical and conceptual support in the form of a so-called brief statement in preparation of a possible follow-up phase.
