Dr. Reva Prakash

Dr Reva Prakash is the Environment Policy and Resource Efficiency Advisor with the Circular Economy Solutions for Preventing Marine Litter project at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. She has worked extensively to promote the agenda of circular economy in India through the EU-India Resource Efficiency Initiative including the implementation of the Resource Efficiency Strategy launched by NITI Aayog and EU Delegation to India including support in the preparation of the RE Sectoral Strategies on EEE Sector and Construction & Demolition Waste, and towards operationalising CE approaches in state of Goa. Earlier, she was responsible for operationalising the Secretariat of the Indian Resource Panel towards development of Recommendations of an Indian Resource Efficiency Programme. She has a PhD in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and has researched on environmentalism in the global south, international environmental norm building and agenda setting, environmental regimes and effectiveness of market mechanisms, globalisation and eco-feminism. She has been a youth activist with Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN) and was its research and policy coordinator, and was a Indian youth delegate at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at Durban in 2011, and has trained youth constituency in India on international politics of climate change.
